Sarah Palin: Rogue or Rouge? Can You Say Trademark Violation

While Sarah Palin has geared up to launch her book, Going Rogue: An American Life, the liberal lefties have decided to put out a book, Going Rouge, An American Nightmare, which of course is more conservative bashing.

But not only do these strikingly similar covers create confusion, they break the law, specifically trademark law. Trademark law was established to prevent this very scenario and this issue should be taken very seriously by the Palin crew. Take Disney’s very serious stance on trademark violations: they sued actor Rob Lowe who dressed as Snow White for an Emmy presentation.

When Sarah Palin was a public official, her image was not protected by trademark law. Public official’s images are not protected. However, public celebrities images ARE protected by trademark law. Now that she IS rogue, she is considered a celebrity and her image is protected.

I would expect you to see, in just a few days, lawsuits flying. And they should. The law has clearly been violated here. The liberals will of course complain. Too bad for them.
